Hachette Learning announces Bookzone as new exclusive distributor in Jamaica

Hachette Learning, one of Jamaica’s major school text book suppliers, is pleased to announce the local Bookzone Limited as its exclusive distributor in Jamaica, effective July 1, 2026.

Bookzone is one of the island’s leading suppliers of educational goods and services, including providing schoolbooks to bookstores and the Ministry of Education.

This collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing the availability and local support of high-quality educational resources across the island.
An education publisher with over 150 years of expertise, Hachette Learning - previously Hodder Education - provides expert digital and print teaching and learning solutions on a global scale. They have supported education in Jamaica for many decades, and working with Bookzone strengthens this commitment by ensuring schools, teachers, and parents can access reliable materials that help all learners.

Key highlights of the agreement:

Comprehensive Support: Bookzone will handle local distribution and supply of Hachette Learning resources. This includes school materials and titles from the Hachette Learning Professional Development collection, formerly John Catt. 

Expanded Offerings: In addition to educational resources, Bookzone will also help with orders for Hachette Learning’s Reading Planet series and Hachette Children’s Group books, including popular collections such as Enid Blyton. 

Continuity and Confidence: This change aims to give schools and parents a smooth experience and ensure access to quality resources before the new school year begins.
